First Friday: DREAMSTATE by Kayla McCormick

DREAMSTATE explores the bad side of photography. The use of limited focus and blur create an image that elicits emotion and recalls memory, letting the viewer assign their own meaning to whatever they see based on their own experiences.

About Kayla: Kayla McCormick hails from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, landing blindly in Missoula nearly seven years ago. Finding solid footing in this formative community, she has found inspiration to dive deeper into photography. When you don’t see her behind the bar at the Dram Shop, she is most likely out exploring with her sweetie and their dog, programming algorithms with her business partner or hiding out in her house nerding out on something. Oh, she can also take real photos and loves collaborating with other artists. Hit her up!
